[DAVIS, OKLAHOMA, September 16, 2018]—The Pathfinders, a local non-denominational co-ed youth group, has announced today that it will be holding a large fundraiser on Sunday, September 23rd. The group is raising funds to help cover their expenses to attend the International Camporee event in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The fundraiser will be held at the Arbuckle View Seventh-day Adventist Church on Highway 7 West in Davis, Oklahoma from 8am to 4pm.
With less than a week to go, the Pathfinders are preparing for a busy Sunday that will be spent washing cars and selling snow cones and various items in a large rummage sale. The Pathfinders hope to raise $5,000 to cover the cost of tickets, food, and other travel expenses.
Despite the amount of work involved, to the Pathfinders it is worth it. The International Camporee is a six-day event that is only held every five years. They will attend educational classes, lodge in tents, and make new friends. With approximately 50,000 youth in attendance, it will be a unique opportunity to play, share, learn, and worship with others from around the world.
The group is looking forward to the experience, however, without adequate funding, they might miss such an exciting opportunity. They are hoping their fundraiser will generate the amount they need to go.
If you would like to help the Pathfinders reach their goal, the Pathfinders will be ready to greet you, wash your car, and assist you with any purchases this Sunday.
For more information about the fundraiser, you may email Donna Hill.
The Pathfinders are sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church but are a non-denominational group. Young people in grade 5 and up are welcome to join, though registration closed for the year at the beginning of this month. As members, youth can earn merit patches and learn and explore a wide variety of topics such as nature, health and science, arts and crafts, and agriculture.
